LA County Department of Health Services to Implement Wellsoft EDIS in 2 Additional Hospitals

12 Jul 2011

Somerset, NJ – July 12, 2011 – Wellsoft Corporation today announced that implementation planning is underway for Wellsoft Emergency Department Information Systems (EDIS) at two additional hospitals in the Los Angeles County-run health care system. Expanding on the 2009 implementation of Wellsoft EDIS at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center, the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) has selected Wellsoft's EDIS for its Harbor-UCLA and Olive View-UCLA Medical Centers.

LAC+USC Medical Center provides care for more than 160,000 ED patient visits each year. Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center annually manage care for 105,000 and 85,000 ED patients respectively. The implementation of Wellsoft EDIS in these Emergency Departments will help Los Angeles County meet their goal of ensuring access to high-quality, patient-centered, cost-effective health care to Los Angeles County residents.

"We are excited to expand the Wellsoft solution as we look to integrate platforms across our health care system," said Robin Tyler, RN, Assistant Nursing Director, DHS Quality Improvement and Patient Safety division. "Through its enterprise functionality, we are better able to manage our very busy emergency departments, which leads to improved quality and better patient experience."

"We are proud to be working with the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services to further their goal to provide comprehensive, quality healthcare services to the residents of Los Angeles County", said Dr. John Santmann, President of Wellsoft. “We are excited to expand our relationship and look forward to a long and successful partnership."
