Commitment to Standards & Interoperability Clearly Demonstrated
Somerset, New Jersey – April 16, 2009 – Wellsoft Corporation has participated in the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology’s (CCHIT®) Pilot Study, designed to gauge the testability of CCHIT’s 09 certification criteria and demonstrate the effectiveness of its process.
Wellsoft Corporation has extensive experience with interoperability, systems integration with established interfaces, industry standard platforms, open architecture, web services and HL7 compliance. Incorporating these standards into the Wellsoft EDIS application promotes patient safety and enhances patient care while reducing costs. Bringing together data from multiple sources to create meaningful clinical information requires Wellsoft’s unique combination of healthcare knowledge, analytic ability and technical competence.
Wellsoft Corporation’s product, Wellsoft® EDIS v11, is a CCHIT Certified® 08 Emergency Department Electronic Health Record (EHR). Wellsoft EDIS is a comprehensive system with core functions that include patient tracking, clinical documentation, image capture, order management, medication management, discharge planning and reporting. For multiple locations, Wellsoft provides enterprise features which can include, for all facilities, shared data elements, standardized care, documentation, orders, core measures and risk management. Wellsoft creates an EHR for the emergency department patient visit.
“Wellsoft recognizes that the use of industry approved standards is the most efficient, reliable, and cost effective method to exchange clinical data,” says Wellsoft President John Santmann, MD. “We have seen an increase in the number of hospitals requiring CCHIT Certification for their Emergency Department and hospital wide EHRs. This requirement helps ensure focus on promoting patient safety and enhancing patient care through the use of interoperability standards. ”
