The Nebraska Medical Center Implements Wellsoft v10 in Expanded Emergency Department |

Reduced waiting time and improved patient services anticipated Somerset, NJ – October 19, 2005 – The Nebraska Medical Center’s newly expanded Emergency Department will open later this fall with Wellsoft Corporation’s v10 providing computerized patient tracking in the new Center for Clinical Excellence. Reduced waiting time, more spacious patient care areas and improved patient services are among the benefits anticipated in the new Emergency Department. To support these goals, Wellsoft Corporation has implemented a comprehensive Emergency Department Information System. “From the beginning of our evaluation, we were impressed with Wellsoft’s history and reputation,” said Ron Carson, System Coordinator in the Emergency Department. “It’s clear that Wellsoft knows the Emergency Department. The Nebraska Medical Center treats 60,000 patients from across the region, and the new Emergency Department will consolidate the University and Clarkson Towers into one comprehensive department, upping the total number of available beds to 33. In addition, the Emergency Department at Clarkson West Medical Center which provides around-the-clock emergency care in West Omaha has also implemented Wellsoft v10. The Emergency Departments have already implemented Wellsoft v10 computerized patient tracking, discharge planning, orders tracking and results and report generation. Nurses and physicians will also use the system for documenting patient care and for drug and allergy interaction checking.
