Wellsoft's Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) Receives 08 CCHIT Certification |

Software Complies with New Emergency Department Requirements November 12, 2008 – The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT®) today announced that Wellsoft Corporation’s product, Wellsoft EDIS v11, is a CCHIT Certified® 08 Emergency Department Electronic Health Record (EHR). The Commission – a private, nonprofit organization – is the Recognized Certification Body in the United States for certifying health information technology products. CCHIT’s certification compliance criteria and inspection process have been thoroughly researched taking into account state of the art of health IT products, available standards, and comparable certification processes in other industries and countries. The inspection process is based on real-life medical scenarios designed to test products rigorously against the clinical documentation needs of providers and the quality and safety needs of healthcare consumers and payers. The program will improve healthcare information technology adoption by physicians and other clinicians who are not technology experts, and will, in turn, improve the quality and safety of care that they deliver to healthcare consumers.
