University Medical Center at Princeton Selects Wellsoft

UMCP will enhance its ability to deliver exceptional care

Somerset, NJ – June 2007 – Wellsoft Corporation today announced that University Medical Center at Princeton (UMCP) has selected its Emergency Department Information System to further enhance operational performance in the hospital’s Emergency Department.  Staffed by physicians who are board certified in emergency medicine and nurses who are trained in emergency care, disaster preparedness, and trauma, the UMCP Emergency Department has more than 36,000 visits each year.

By implementing Wellsoft’s EDIS, University Medical Center at Princeton will enhance its ability to deliver exceptional clinical care. Implementation of a complete suite of features including patient tracking, clinical documentation, order entry and results reporting is under way.  By utilizing Wellsoft’s EDIS, UMCP expects to decrease length of stay for its Emergency Department patients, enhance and streamline physician and nursing documentation, and increase communication between caregivers, resulting in increased patient safety, more outstanding outcomes and an exceptional experience for patients who utilize UMCP’s ED services.

“We are committed to providing highly efficient and effective emergency care to our community and chose the Wellsoft EDIS to help us deliver on that promise,” states, Vincent Joseph, FACHE, President, University Medical Center at Princeton and Senior Vice President, Princeton HealthCare System.

According to Peter B. Cridge, MD, Medical Director, Emergency Department, UMCP, the Wellsoft System advances UMCP’s mission to provide state-of-the-art emergency care. “This new technology will help us reach a high level of access to patient information across the healthcare system, improving efficiency and ensuring tight alignment between diagnostics and each patient’s plan of treatment. As a result, patient care will be highly informed, effective and timely,” Dr. Cridge said.

Dr. John Santmann, President of Wellsoft Corporation added, "We are excited to have this opportunity to provide the Emergency Department at UMCP with our award-winning software.”
