Wellsoft EDIS to help realize their mission of setting the standard for excellence in the delivery of patient care, patient safety and the quality of the healthcare experience
Somerset, NJ – July 2008 – Wellsoft Corporation today announced that Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (Jefferson) (a member of Premier Inc) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has selected its Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) to help realize their mission of setting the standard for excellence in the delivery of patient care, patient safety and the quality of the healthcare experience. Together, the Emergency Departments at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience and Methodist Hospital Division of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital serve over 105,000 adult and pediatric patients per year.
“We are pleased to add Wellsoft as an important component of our overall hospital information system and expect that it will integrate well with the other systems in our suite to provide optimal information management throughout our entire continuum of care,” said Stephen Tranquillo, Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
“Delivering high quality, compassionate care is the hallmark of Jefferson,” commented Alan T. Forstater, M.D, FACEP, Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. “We look forward to working with Wellsoft to improve our efficiency and regulatory compliance by making critical patient and departmental information accessible to our clinicians and administrative personnel. Access to real time as well as retrospective data will be crucial as we expand our facility and streamline our processes as part of our initiatives to improve care and service to our patients.”
Wellsoft EDIS is highly scalable and can support the needs of Jefferson’s multi-location enterprise. In addition to standardizing care across the hospitals, the unique needs of Jefferson University Hospital’s Level 1 Trauma Center, Methodist Hospital’s Fast Track, and the organization’s residency program will be easily addressed. Features to be implemented include patient tracking, nursing and physician documentation, electronic orders and results, image capture, and risk management.
"We are pleased to have been selected”, said Wellsoft President John Santmann, MD. “We are looking forward to helping Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals improve their efficiency and effectiveness as they focus on their mission of providing excellence in patient care.”
