Wellsoft Corporation has a great deal of experience communicating with other systems and devices, and has developed and maintains interfaces with SMS, MEDITECH, HBO, Eclipsys, Cerner and many others. Orders may be placed in the Emergency Department, sent electronically to the ancillary departments, and results received on the Wellsoft system as a background operation. The Wellsoft EDIS tracking display instantly flags staff to alert them to tasks that need to be completed and who is responsible for their completion. Wellsoft automatically alerts staff and time-stamps orders when the results are returned.
The primary method used in communication is the standard HL7 message over TCP/IP however other options are available. Wellsoft currently supports:

CCD/CCR Interface
Increase the efficiency of the triage process and capture data more accurately while decreasing charting times using the Wellsoft EDIS CCD interface. Tested and certified against the official National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) validation tool, the Wellsoft EDIS CCD interface allows for the discrete codified data exchange for Home Medications, Medications administered in the ED, Allergies, Past Medical History, Past Surgical History and Results with HIS and ancillary systems. Upon a patient’s arrival to the emergency department, Wellsoft EDIS can process an in-bound CCD message to allow clinicians to validate critical information in real-time at the very first point of contact. This automatic inbound flow of data enhances and expedites the triage process and allow clinicians to focus more on patient care and less on EHR data entry. At the conclusion of the patient’s visit Wellsoft EDIS can automatically send the updated CCD to HIS, ancillary systems, private medical doctors and/or consulting physicians ensuring the best continuity of care possible.
Medical Document Management Interface (MDM)
Automatically send ED Charts to CDR, HIS or other HL7 or PostScript compatible systems. Standard interface transmits Disposition Summary and RN Notes in a single document at end of visit. Physician Documentation is sent as both final and corrected versions. For custom interfaces, choose additional content, documents or versions.
Swipe/Proximity Card
Quick, secure access to the Wellsoft system is provided through support for proximity and swipe cards. The user simply swipes their card and is logged in to Wellsoft EDIS immediately.
Wellsoft continues to add interface functionality related to the Emergency Department encounter, especially as requested by our clients.
Wellsoft provides integration within the hospital and across the enterprise setting. HL7 compliance ensures that Wellsoft EDIS can integrate with any system relevant to the Emergency Department visit such as the laboratory or radiology systems. Data from these departments can be accessed in real time through the Wellsoft system. Wellsoft EDIS provides access to patient data in real-time across a WAN, enabling all departments to access and report on data either as a single hospital entity or a health system.
