Product Overview

Risk Management Features

Risk Management is built directly into Wellsoft EDIS as part of a proactive system which indentifies potential risks or procedural considerations for Emergency Department patient care. Reminders, alerts and decision support tools help the clinician to decide whether to accept the possible existing risks or just modify the current treatment plan for the patient.

Risk Management Features Included with every Wellsoft EDIS

Risk Management System - comprehensive checks and flags based on system rules such as range checks and medication alerts based on patient’s age and weight and warning messages for abnormal vital signs.

Medication Reconciliation - meets The Joint Commission’s current National Patient Safety Goals to decrease the possibility of medication errors such as omissions, duplications or drug interactions. Information sources, physician review and sign-off are captured.

Drug Dosing Calculator - automatic weight based dosing calculations and alerts based on minimum/maximum doses are integrated into a medication display that works with orders and/or prescriptions.

Medical Record Flagging - indicates if the patient has had a previous ED visit within hospital defined time intervals by flagging the Patient Tracking Display.

Medication & Allergy Display Location - allergies and medications are highlighted and displayed in the same location on every patient chart.

Real-Time Alerts - color coded alerts are reminders for re-evaluation, vital sign collection and reminders for insufficient documentation or open orders when discharging or admitting patients.

Mandatory Data Capture - any data point can be made mandatory to help enforce compliance for pain scale, domestic violence screening, vital sign collection, TJC, state mandates, hospital policies or practice standards.

Unresolved Issues Management Tracking - monitor post-discharge follow ups and track to resolution.

Wellsoft Links - access to web based resources from within the Wellsoft application.

Discharge Instructions - over 3,000 diagnosis specific aftercare instructions in English & Spanish.
