"We use Wellsoft at our hospital (75,000+, level 1 trauma center) and have had it for 5 years.  I can probably say that regardless of the system that is used, there will always be reservations about online documentation from those that are not computer savvy, and buy-in from those that like computers.  We had some that were extremely technologically challenged and needed additional assistance to learn how to 'turn on the computer'.


NOW ... no one can stand the thought of documenting by hand.  Most of the travelers we have used thought Wellsoft was the easiest system they have used, but I can't tell you which ones they have used in the past.

The inpatient staff LOVE our documentation because they can actually read it ... no sloppy handwriting issues, and people tend to document more completely with unlimited space.  WE love our system, too.

Wellsoft has great 24/7 support staff, and the system is very customizable.  We have had almost no down time in the 5 years we have had the system (I think only 2-3 times) and even the interns that rotate thru the ED pick it up quickly.

There are many systems out there, but whichever one you use, once it is up and running, you will figure out how to make it work for you.  And, your staff will never want to go back to handwritten notes."
